My receipt printer isn't printing
Step-by-step checks to get a receipt or kitchen printer working again.
If orders aren’t printing, work through these checks in order — most issues are fixed in the first two steps.
1. Check the printer itself
- Is it powered on and showing a steady (not blinking) status light?
- Does it have paper, loaded the right way round?
- Try the printer’s own self-test (usually hold the feed button while powering on) to confirm the hardware works.
2. Check the connection
- The printer and your device must be on the same Wi-Fi network.
- If it’s a network printer, confirm its IP address matches what’s set in Dinerly.
3. Check the routing
- Open Settings → Printing and confirm the printer is assigned to the right orders (for example, kitchen items to the kitchen printer).
- Send a test print from that screen.
Still not working?
- Restart the printer, then the Dinerly app.
- If you use multiple printers, check whether all of them are affected or just one — that tells us whether it’s the network or a single device.
If none of this helps, contact support with your printer model and whether the self-test prints.
