Set up variants (sizes and options)
Offer an item in several sizes or options, each with its own price, using a variant group.
Variants let you offer one item in several versions — Small / Medium / Large — each with its own price. In Dinerly, an item’s variants always come from a variant group (a reusable set you can attach to more than one item).
Add variants to an item
- Open the item (Menu → Items → click the item) and find the Variants section.
- Choose one of:
- Select existing variants — pick a variant group you’ve already made.
- Create new variants — opens the New Variant Group dialog. This creates a reusable group (it also appears under the Variants tab) and adds it to this item. A group needs at least 2 variants. Click Create & add.
- Click Save Changes.
Edit the variants
Each group is a card with a row per variant. For each row you can set:
- The name (e.g. Small / Medium / Large) and its price.
- More options — unit size, unit, and an optional SKU.
- An In stock / Off toggle, and which one is the default.
- Drag to reorder, or delete a row.
About the base price: once an item has variants, each variant sets its own price. The item’s base price is only used if you remove all the variants.
Different prices per variant (add-ons)
If an item has both variants and modifier options, a Variant pricing matrix appears. Use it to override an add-on’s price for a specific variant, or switch that add-on off for one variant — for example, making a topping free on the large but charged on the small. Leave a cell blank to use the default price. It saves with the item’s Save Changes button.
